September 23 marked the end of the harvest at Couvent. The petit-verdot was picked nearly 15 days earlier than in 2019, with very promising berries. Couvent is proud to be one of the few classifed domaines in Saint-Émilion that uses petit-verdot in its blend, a grape that has become over the years the marque de fabrique of the domaine. A demanding grape, which requires a special terroir and a lot of care, petit-verdot, added in the blend of the Grand Cru Classé, gives an additional aromatic complexity, density, and a unique flavour to our Grand Vin.

All our thanks again to our great team of coupeurs, trieurs, and vinificateurs for what will probably be the most memorable harvest of the past decade.
